After getting married in October of 2014, we decided to buy a camera to begin capturing the special moments of our lives, and “maybe even start a side hustle.”

We opened our business, Burns Exposures Photography , in 2015. After just a few short months, I (Cathleen) decided to leave my job as a TV News anchor/reporter and pursue photography full time. That leap of faith was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Jeremy, who has another full time job, spends the rest of his time helping run this crazy-fun business we created together. Within five years of business, we purchased our first studio right by the state capitol in Charleston, WV. In 2024 we purchased an old movie theater that we are currently remodeling for our new studio!

Our schedule is jam packed with photo shoots, and we consistently bring in six figures of income per year with our photography business. For these reasons, along with a joy of coaching others, we decided to create this course; teaching the art and business of photography to as many aspiring photographers as possible.
